Teaching with purpose

Mischeck Mwenya reflects on how the Educore Academy changed his approach to teaching

Misheck completed a BSc in Science and Education and taught in a government school for his first year qualified. He was then accepted onto the Educore Academy’s Cambridge Professional Development Diploma for Teaching & Learning, in partnership with Cambridge International Education. The course has had a significant impact on the way he views learning and teaching.

“Teaching is no longer just about content delivery for me. Now it’s about connecting with the heart of every learner. The programme has shifted my mindset from coverage to meaningful learning, where I now see reflection, learner feedback, and adaptation as best practices to make knowledge truly accessible to all.

I recently used inductive learning to teach electromagnetic induction.  Rather than telling my students Faraday’s Law, as deductive learning would require and which was my previous routine, I guided them through a hands-on exploration where they discovered the principle themselves. This not only deepened their conceptual understanding but empowered them to see themselves as capable scientists.”
